JPSC Eligibility Criteria

The Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) administers recruitment exams for Group A posts in the Jharkhand State Bureaucracy. One such exam is the Gazetted Probationers exam, through which Group A officers are recruited in Jharkhand Civil Services. This article outlines the complete eligibility criteria for the administrative exam 2021.

The JPSC exam is conducted in 3 stages:

  1. Prelims
  2. Mains
  3. Interview

JPSC Age Limit

The main eligibility criterion is that the candidate must be a citizen of India.

JPSC considers the age limit for the Combined Civil Service Exam based on the following dates and years:

– Minimum age as of March 1, 2021
– Maximum age as of August 1, 2016

The JPSC notification specifies the age limit for different categories/posts in the exam eligibility.

  • Maximum 10 years in their respective category:
    • UR – 45
    • BC-I; BC-II – 47
    • SC/ST – 50
    • Women (UR/EBC) – 48
  • Maximum 5 years in their respective category:
    • UR – 40
    • BC-I; BC-II – 42
    • SC/ST – 45
    • Women (UR/EBC) – 43

Note:

  1. A candidate who has rendered at least three years of regular service under the state government of Jharkhand shall be granted 5 years relaxation in the upper age limit.
  2. Reservation in the JPSC exam only extends to the candidates native of the state.
  3. Male and female candidates having more than one wives and husbands, respectively are deemed ineligible for the examination.
  4. All the required certificates that are needed to prove the category of the candidate should be dated before the interview dates of these candidates.

JPSC Educational Qualification (Jharkhand Public Service Commission)

  • Candidates must hold a Bachelors’ Degree from any recognized university or equivalent qualification.
  • Final Year students are not eligible unless they clear their examination by the last date of application submission.
